About Candyland Strain

History & Genetics

Candyland was created by crossing the notorious Grand Daddy Purple strain (also known as Grand Daddy Purps) with Platinum Cookies. Ken Estes, who was a member of the team that developed the original Grand Daddy Purple, was its original breeder.

Appearance, Aroma & Flavor

A little bit darker than average brilliant green Sativa strain, Candyland buds are tiny and thick. When grown appropriately, it has an abundance of trichomes that give the impression that the bud has been covered with sugar. The red hairs are a dull red color and are longer than usual, giving the buds almost a fuzzy appearance up close. Expect a very earthy flavor with undertones of candies and spices when smoking this strain.

Effects

When smoked in smaller amounts, its sativa-leaning characteristics make it a mentally engaging strain with minimal to no physical effects. Any activity that requires your brain to remain active and engaged, such as social gatherings or artistic pursuits, benefits greatly from the pressure. As is common with potent Sativa strains, the strain can have an impact on anxiety and paranoia when used at larger doses, especially by inexperienced users. Before committing to a full joint, you might want to test one or two hits.

Growing

Compared to other Sativas, Candyland is a relatively simple strain to produce. It can be grown both indoors and outdoors, with an indoor grow having an 8–9 week flowering period and an outdoor grow having a harvest in September. Near the end of the growth cycle, the plant’s relatively tall and narrow frame starts to buckle under the weight of the buds. Indoor yields of up to 2.5 ounces per plant and outdoor yields of up to 3 pounds per plant are possible.

Candyland won the Gold Medal at KushCon 2012 in Denver, which drew a record-breaking 50,000 attendees.

Overall, Candyland is a terrific choice if you want to boost your mood and lessen unnecessary tension. This strain is appealing because it tastes like candy and has a THC content of 19%. Some of the best concentrates on the market today are made from the extraction of this substance.
