About AK-47 Strain

History & Genetics

A hybrid with a Sativa bias named AK-47 has a dazzling white appearance. Despite the strain’s harsh reputation, it has a highly relaxing effect that can even trap users in a “couch lock” state. The four strains that went towards making AK-47 were Colombia (sativa), Mexico (sativa), Thai (sativa), and Afghanistan (indica). The genetic makeup of AK-47 is 65% sativa and 35% indica. The THC content is consistently around average. But it can contain up to 1.5% of CBD and CBN.

It is one of the most sought-after strains on the market and has received upwards of 27 awards.

Appearance, Aroma & Flavor

AK-47 plants have huge calyxes and are fairly tall and wide. The buds have many trichomes and fine red hairs, and they are a dark yellowish-green color.

The dense nugs smell skunky, flowery, and spicy. There are also strong undertones of sandalwood and woody pine. When ingested, the underlying skunkiness is covered by citrus tones.

Effects

The AK-47 fosters greater imagination. But for the most part, AK-47 will make you feel happy, content, and ecstatic. It’s frequently used while people are listening to music. In addition to dry mouth and eyes, the stress can make users feel paranoid and occasionally disoriented. Minor headaches are another issue for some individuals.

Many users benefit from the strain’s calming effects to reduce anxiety and tension. Others utilize it to ease the discomfort of their ongoing aches and pains. In order to relax before bed, insomniacs typically takes 1-3 hits an hour before going to sleep. By following this routine, they report having more nights of sleep.

This strain aids in relaxation and mood regulation for those with bipolar illness, depression, and other mood disorders. In addition to boosting appetite, the strain is used to reduce nausea and vomiting.

Growing

Strong genetic ties to the AK-47 strain may date back to the 1970s, when Afghan and Thai populations crossed. However, it wasn’t until 1992 that the AK-47 was actually created. In 1999, the strain underwent a revision to enable plants to generate consistent seeds.

Although it may be grown outside in a mild environment, many people choose to grow AK-47 indoors in either soil or hydro. Temperatures should ideally be kept below 75 degrees Fahrenheit. The plants will yield the same amount if grown at 75 degrees, but the buds will expand and get fluffy. For eight to nine weeks, the strain blooms. In the middle of October, plants that are grown outside are ready for harvest. Plants that produce AK-47 may produce between 350 and 500 grams per square meter when given appropriate circumstances.
